What's better than a bottle of JT? How about crawfish and JT?
Before JT Meleck was even an idea, there was Frugé Aquafarms. As you know, our vodka is made from the rice we've grown on our land since 1896. But, did you know crawfish has been farmed on the same land as our rice since 1972?
What started as Great Uncle John's rice legacy grew into Frugé Aquafarms in 1972 when Mike and Mark Frugé needed a way to pay for college. It might have started as a hobby, but it has grown into a family business.
Rice and crawfish do not just inhabit the same land, they thrive alongside of each other in alternate seasons. One minute you're driving by acres of rice fields along Church Point Hwy, and the next, crawfish are walking around the farm like they own the place. They decide when to come up and when it's crawfish season. Without the alternating seasons, there would not be any excess rice during transition. Without excess rice, you would not be drinking the bottle of JT you're currently holding in your hand (if you're not holding it, we recommend you start now). Without the bottle, the world would be a much darker place.
It's that time of year again: crawfish season! Grab a bottle of JT Meleck, order online at cajuncrawfish.com, and have you're a Cajun weekend.
